Penguin Patrol - Waddle On Sea
We are looking for volunteers to join our Penguin Patrol for Waddle-on-Sea, our spectacular public art event in partnership with Wild in Art, which is set to make a splash in Southend-on-Sea this summer!
Over 30 penguin sculptures, each individually designed by an artist and sponsored by a business, will form a free, fun, family-friendly trail of discovery for the local community to explore and enjoy. To help us manage the huddle, we need a team of volunteers to engage with trail-goers and act as positive and enthusiastic ambassadors for the project and Havens Hospices. Havens Hospices provides palliative nursing and supportive care to adults and children living with complex or incurable conditions.
Havens Hospices is committed to safeguarding patients and their families, visitors, staff and volunteers. The recruitment of all staff, volunteers and trustees is robust and follows principles for Safer Recruitment.
Our values are: Care and compassion, Commitment, Community, Courage and Integrity and each of our volunteers help us to achieve our core values.
Do you only have a limited amount of availability but are looking to give back? Being an Occasional Volunteer, you can decide how much time you would like to offer. The events range from marathons to art trail events!
Our volunteers provide invaluable support and are helping ‘Making every day count' for the patients, children and families we care for.
We look to cover out of pocket travel expenses (excluding taxes), offer a certificate of volunteering upon request, thank you events for volunteers, celebrating volunteer week and a named volunteer experience co-ordinator to support you in your role.
